About The Qatar national football teamThe Qatar national football team was founded in 1960 and began participating in international and continental football competitions in 1970. It started competing in the AFC Asian Cup in 1976 but failed to advance from the group stage until 1992. At the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, as the host nation, Qatar reached the quarter-finals. On February 1, 2019, in the final of the UAE Asian Cup, Qatar defeated Japan 3-1 to win the Asian Cup title for the first time. In February 2024, Qatar defeated Jordan to successfully defend their Asian Cup title.
