In the 19th round of Ligue 1, Lyon defeated Metz 5-2 away from home, with Endrick scoring a hat-trick.

After the match, the former Palmeiras player gave an interview to talk about relevant topics. In a conversation with Ligue 1’s official channel, he revealed that he had taken the match ball home with him.

How do you feel about scoring your first hat-trick for Lyon?

“It’s fantastic. This is my first hat-trick in my life. I’m really, really happy. It was an incredible game. I will keep this match ball as a treasure at home. Today is a special day for me,” he said joyfully.

What do you say to the critics who slammed your decision to join a “theoretically weaker league” by moving to Lyon on loan from Real Madrid?

The young Brazilian striker hit back at the critics in a firm voice.

Endrick responded, “I think playing in this league (Ligue 1) feels great. It is intense, physical and aggressive, and I love it,” he said with a smile.

“It’s not a mistake. That’s how life is. My life has never been easy and has always been full of challenges. The strength I get from the people around me keeps me going.”

“This is just the beginning. People have been telling me that Lyon is a great club and that I should come here to play. As it turns out, this team is truly excellent,” he concluded.

With his Sunday hat-trick, the Brazilian prodigy extended his perfect start at Lyon: he has contributed four goals and one assist in just three matches.

This victory also marked Lyon’s eighth consecutive win across all competitions, with the team making strong progress in both the Coupe de France and the UEFA Europa League. In Ligue 1 alone, Lyon have accumulated 36 points and currently sit fourth in the standings, nine points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
